Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
  

Chocolate Cake
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water tap water is fine
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
Chocolate Coconut Cream Frosting
  • 1/2 cup plant-based butter I used becel vegan
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 3 tbsp coconut cream
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Chocolate Cake
  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Grease a 8" round pan.
  3. Mix flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
  4. Add the water, vanilla, oil and vinegar and mix.
  5. Pour into prepared pan, and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Let cool on a wire rack before icing.
Chocolate Coconut Cream Frosting
  1. Mix plant-based butter, cocoa, powdered sugar, coconut milk and vanilla until light and fluffy.
