Warm, Feet-Up Vibe

A classic 1800’s farmhouse endeavors to dovetail the old with the new to offer timeless charm, and a warm, feet-up vibe.

Picturesque wood framed windows flood the farmhouse with natural sunlight; most of the time there is no need to turn on the lights during the day!

This house overflows in charm with all the details that matter: A curved staircase, high baseboards, old wood doors with original hardware. Let’s take a look!

Entryway & Reading Nook

‘Functional and farm animal friendly’ best describe the entryway at Nixon Farm. Complete with a little reading nook, this space in our farmhouse includes a coat room (a work in progress), laundry, and powder room. The back door opens to the fenced animal run, perfect for quick potty breaks, particularly in the dead of winter.

Dining Space

A local carpenter crafted this custom table complete with handspun legs, using wood from a nearby fallen barn. Circa 1950’s pressed back chairs, and 2 mismatched beauties found on an online classified website provides just enough space for entertaining.

Kitchen

The classic style used in the restoration of the farmhouse kitchen creates a modern feel, while remaining true to the homes heritage.

Outfitted with an oversized island, the kitchen is perfect for creating our garden-to-table recipes.

Living Room

The farmhouse living room is warm and comfortable, the perfect spot for spending time with family, friends and the four leggers. Nothing in this farmhouse is particularly precious, the focus is on comfort. Help yourself to a cup of hot cocoa and stay as long as you like!

An old 60’s era cabinet adds a vintage vibe and offers the ideal perch for the television. Anyone else doing the bunny ears for the local news plus Netflix combo?

Curved Staircase

The staircase gets its own section, okay? Okay.

This curved, hand-carved staircase (plus the high baseboards and the old doors with original hardware) sum up why we fell in love with this old home.

Just look at how wonderfully worn the stairs are – the stories these stairs could tell!
