Banana Bread : Recipe Notes

Do you like a little banana bread with your chocolate chips?

Around here, there is no such thing as too many chocolate chips. Complaining about chocolate is like whining that there are too many puppies to play with. Or the kittens are just too cute and too fluffy.

  • Dairy-free chocolate chips are relatively easy to find. President’s Choice Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips are dairy free, and PC also has chocolate chips that are expressly plant-based. If you find yourself in a pinch, i.e. you have ripe bananas and someone has been sneaking chocolate chips by the fistful, you could make this recipe with as little as 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
  • Plant-based milk is available just about everywhere. Walmart, our tiny little rural grocery store, corner stores and the dépaneur sell it. We usually buy cashew, almond or oat. Coconut, macadamia milk may work, I just haven’t tested this recipe with it. If you ever test this recipe using soy milk, let me know how it goes, and I will pass along your results!
