CSA Subscription 2025
About Nixon Farm
Nixon Farm is a small family operation located in Ottawa, Ontario, specializing in growing an assortment of produce and flowers using regenerative farming practices. Our goal is to grow high quality vegetables and flowers including unique and specialized varieties.
Nixon Farm is biodiverse, bee, butterfly and pollinator friendly. We market direct to consumers at local farmers markets and to local chefs.
Produce is gifted bi-weekly to families in need as much as possible during the summer and fall months (when produce is ready to harvest) and donated to our local food bank.
Nixon Farm CSA 2025
Nixon Farm is offering a seasonal Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription next season (2025). Our weekly subscription will consist of a variety of vegetables suitable for families of two (2) to four (4) June through October 2024 for $450 + applicable sales tax.

What is a CSA?
A CSA or Community Supported Agriculture is a way for you to directly support our farm. CSA members sign up for a seasonal subscription for fresh local produce. CSA is a concept where “farmers feed cities” directly and subscribers share risk in the produce which can be dependent on weather, drought, etc.
With a CSA you have the chance to directly engage and interact with who grows your food and where it is grown and support local.
Memberships are paid in advance of the season in exchange for a share of our harvest. We offer pick up at our farm or free delivery to the Stittsville and Richmond area.
Growing Season
Nixon Farms harvest season typically runs from late June to late October with timelines for harvest confirmed in early June. Nixon Farm will always try and provide the highest quality of produce for you between June and October, but we cannot guarantee quantities or box contents on a given week. As the summer progresses, so does the harvest. Expect a smaller box and more greens in the spring and a larger box and more storage crops in the fall. Sometimes there will be choices between two or three items.
Nixon Farms inaugural CSA subscription will not be offering vacation weeks, where the members have the ability to skip 1 or 2 weeks. In lieu of vacation weeks, we would be able to donate any given weekly box to the local food bank or the subscriber may have the value of a given box added to their next box.
Risk Mitigation + Rewards
Poor weather, drought, disease, early frost, crop failure and other natural challenges can limit our crop output. However, we always plan to grow a wide variety of crops to ensure a steady supply and mitigate the impact of natural challenges. That said, we can never eliminate the risk of growing in a natural climate. Alternatively, we may be rewarded with phenomenal weather which can lead to bumper crops.
